Inspired by aspects of iOS, CarPlay, and Tesla’s Model 3/Y UI, this interface forgoes dedicated apps and takes a more fluid approach built around a main screen of customizable and resize-able instrument telemetry tiles and panels, each with dedicated functions and information.

Telemetry Tiles
Tiles are interactive and update dynamically and contextually with car functions, such as location, turn-by-turn navigation, range, battery, and energy data, etc.
Tapping or two-finger spreading an instrument will open a full-screen panel view with more information.
The user can return at any point to the main base screen using a multi-touch gesture, a physical button in the vehicle, or the home button in the display dock.
Telemetry Panels
Panels are supplemental to Tiles and provide deeper, physical system-level control of the vehicle such as door locks, windshield wipers, arming the security system, and opening the trunk.
Panel controls are intended largely to be secondary screen-based alternatives to voice controls and physical controls in the vehicle via buttons, switches, and stalks.
Interactions & Animations
When an interface element, such as a telemetry Tile, updates with new contextually pertinent information to the driver, the element border highlights with its color and scales up slightly to indicate activity and change. This behavior is clear and confident, yet subtle enough not to distract the driver.
