About
EX VIVO is a speculative bioart & biodesign project envisioning a future of prosthetic knowledge and memory.
Inspired by my ongoing experiments and works related to the embodiment, communication, transplantation, and manipulation of memory, EX VIVO finds its scientific foundation in the developing fields of neuroscience and genetics.
EX VIVO is a DNA-computer interface microfluidics chip. The featured model is the M1
— an early prototype for a hybrid cold-storage and implantation chip.

EX VIVO Prosthetics
Founded in 2034, EX VIVO are premiere genetics cold-storage specialists. EX VIVO devices excel in DNA and RNA cold storage and have recently begun experimenting in intercepting and transferring experiential and sensory data in the form of memories.
EX VIVO Prosthetics are attempting to enhance, expand and preserve cultural memory. Through their experiential prostheses, memories can be captured, stored and archived indefinitely, and transferred from human to human and generation to generation.
The Capture Process
EX VIVO’s early prototypes requires our safe and removable “capture card” neural implant*. This device intercepts and clones the genetic process responsible for the conversion between short term and long term memory. The capture card targets and binds to the relevant neurotransmitters, enters the neuron, and begins duplicating and recording the process initiated by cAMP and the subsequent neuroplastic changes.
*Newer non-invasive implementations of the experience capture process are in active development.
